Culture First Project

What is it?

The idea of the “Culture First Project” was born in 2017 as an initiative by a Salvadorian-Canadian family with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from El Salvador. Their aim is to bring representative art from El Salvador to the embassies and consulates around the world. Specifically, the idea is to show original artwork from Fernando Llort, an important artist from El Salvador, for people to admire and appreciate our culture.

Why create this project?

Culture brings us together, gives us an identity and represents us to the world. Within it, the artistic expression is one of the most important elements of culture, that’s why we believe is critical that countries and people abroad have the opportunity to come in touch with the art from El Salvador, to show the best of who we are to the rest of the world.
